Twelveth of February twenty twentyone
I've been thinking about what to post today - because I have to keep things moving or I'll disappear into obscurity.
I thought I'd give you another little insight into what's going on in the land of Black Orchard this week.
I started the week with a brand new web hosting package and the excitement of designing my new webstore. Cut to Tuesday and I was swearing a lot and threatening to march around to the head office of Wix demanding they explain why they can make something so simple to use work so badly.
Wednesday arrived and with a fresh enthusiasm I wiped the slate clean and started again. By lunchtime I was on the verge of a breakdown and questioning whether selling online was even worth all the hassle....
Thursday was epiphany day...Did I REALLY need a big fancy website with a blog which was costing me hundreds of pounds a year and many hours to maintain? I was rather luckily within my 14 day trial period so I took the cowhide by the wobbly bits and cancelled my hosting package to get a full refund. I then proceeded to spend that couple of hundred quid on some leather to make new and awesome things :)
So, as you can imagine I've had to change my 'plans' a little from the grandiose dreamings of a new empire to something scaled back and manageable.
Back to today. I've now set up a nice simple Big Cartel store for my new brand so I easily can run two websites side by side, cherry picking whatever I make to fit each one perfectly.
One thing is for absolute certain. Custom orders will be extremely limited so I have the time to open my creativity and create what makes ME happy from now on. So, expect loads of ravens, krakens, skulls, zombies, gothic crosses and the like from Black Orchard and plain versions of all my products in the 'New Place'....to be announced soon....
